犯罪法律类：
1) 原因：先天还是后天？
e.g. Some people think most crime is the result of circumstances such as poverty and other social problems. Others believe that most crime is caused by people who are bad by nature. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
2) 监狱的功能
e.g. Some people think the only purpose of prison is to punish crime. Others think it has other functions. Discuss the two views and give your opinions.
3) 预防措施
e.g. More and more measures to improve the security in large urban areas have been introduced in many countries because of the increased crime. Do the benefits of these measures outweigh the drawbacks?
4) 自由和法律
e.g. Society is based on rules and laws. It would not function if individuals are free to do whatever they want to. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
5) 惩罚方式、是否该区别对待
e.g. Some people believe that young people who commit serious crimes should be punished in the same way as adults. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
6) 犯罪率增长的原因及解决办法
e.g. Recent years, the number of crimes committed by young people in major cities throughout the world is increasing. Discuss this issue. Give reasons and suggest some solutions.

7) 节日命名
e.g. Nowadays, a lot of charities and organisations have to publicize their activities by setting up a number of special days, like 'National Children's Day', for encouraging good care of children, and 'National Non-smoking Day', for encouraging people to pay more attention to health. Why do these organisations take these activities, and what will the effect be?
8) 税收与贡献
e.g. Some people think paying taxes is a big enough contribution to their society, while others think people have more responsibilities as members of society than only paying taxes. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
9) 家庭结构
e.g. As countries develop, their populations tend to live individually or live in small family units. Discuss the causes and effects on the society.
10) 名人做慈善
e.g. Some people believe famous people's support towards international aid organizations draws the attention to problems, while others think celebrities make the problems less important. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
11) 晚要小孩
e.g. Nowadays men and women in many countries decide to have babies at an older age. What are the reasons? What effects does this trend have on society and family life?

e.g. It is suggested that all the young adults should undertake a period of unpaid work helping people in the community. Does it bring more benefits or drawbacks to the community and the young people?

e.g. As well as making money, businesses should also have social responsibilities. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

14) 长期从事一份工作vs多换工作
e.g. The world of work is changing rapidly. Working conditions today are not the same as before and people no longer rely on taking one job for life. Discuss the possible causes for these changes and give your suggestions on how people should prepare for work in the future.
15) 工作与生活的关系、工作满意度
e.g. Some countries have a long working day, which is helpful for them to become economically successful, but it also causes some negative social problems. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

e.g. In some countries, it is illegal for companies to reject job applicant for their age. Is this a positive or negative development?

e.g. The government is responsible for protecting a nation’s cultural identity. Thus, some people believe new buildings should be built in traditional styles. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

18) 科技与贫富差距的关系
e.g. Some people believe that the range of technology available to individuals today is increasing the gap between the poor people and the rich people, while some others say this has an opposite effect. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
