Part 1:

Do you like wearing hats?

No, definitely not. It is not comfortable to wear a hat when I’m in a subway train orwalking in the street because the air flow is not smooth in the hat. Besides, my hair would be in an awkward shape when I put off the hat. Also, if I wear a hat in a public place, people around me would look at me. It’s so weird to wear one especially in a crowded place. And it would be burning hot if I wear a hat in the summer although it could shield off the sunlight.

What kinds of hats do you like?

While I don’t like wearing hats, I prefer some kinds of hats. The baseball cap is the kind of hats that I like. When a person wears a baseball cap, he or she would look energetic. Young people are suitable to wear a baseball cap, a T-shirt and a pair of jeans. That’s the best fit. Another type of hats I like is the motorcycle helmets, which look cool if a person wears one when riding a motorcycle.

Where do people buy hats?

People purchase hats in the department stores, online stores and hats outlets. But these days most people do that online. Amazon and eBay are the most popular means for people to buy hats. After comparing the prices and reading the reviews, customers could make the correct decision about the style, color and price of the hats they would like to buy. So online stores would be place most people choose to buy hats.

Is it popular for people to wear hats in your country?

No, only a minority of people wear hats in China. Most people don’t have the habit to wear hats. But in the northern and southern part of China, in order to protect themselves from the extreme weather, some people would choose to wear fur hats or sun hats. Other people may be wearing hats for the purpose of showing fashionable styles. Overall, wearing hats is not popular in my country.

Part 2:

Describe a character or personality of yours

You should say

What the character or personality

When you had this character or personality

What influence of this character or personality exerts on you

And explain why you have this character or personality

Sample Answer:

My personality I would like to describe is patience, which is a good virtue in doing things in the hustle and bustle of life.

I had the character when I was in primary school. During that period, I was required to learn a variety of subjects including arithmetic, Chinese language, English language, science and so on. What’s more, teachers demanded us to finish homework in 2 hours for every subject. Initially, I thought it was impossible to fulfill the task because math and science were so complicated that I needed time to review the formulas learned in classroom and then I could start doing the homework. However, at that point, I noted that everything would be chaotic if I was in a hurry. Then, I took my time and thought over the priority in doing the things. Eventually, I did a good job in doing the homework. Since then, I have been a patient person for a decade.

Patience exerts positive influences on me. The first benefit is that I could avoid mistakes. Patience gives me a second chance in reviewing my work. I can figure out the correct ways to do a job. Plus, I could, in most cases, find better ways to solve problems. When I am under time pressure, more often than not, I would be hasty in doing things. If I get the solution, I would be inclined to regard it as the best one. But if I am patient, sometimes I would think twice about the way things are going on, so innovative ideas always come to my mind.

As to why I have this personality, I guess it is related to the childhood education given by my parents. They are nice people. And they are never worried about urgencies and they could always address problems. Because of this, I learned the importance of being patient. Additionally, from primary school to college, I saw many peers who possess the same personality as I do. We often do class assignments and hang out together, which reinforces this personality.

Part 3:

Does the personality of people change over time?

Yes, sure. People’s personality changes over time. Because of the changing surroundings, people will meet other people who are from different cultural backgrounds and have different religious believes, even totally different lifestyles, all of which would, more or less, affect one’s personality. For example, if an introverted person went to the US to live for one year, this person would be an extroverted person just because US people are outgoing. That’s why I believe personalities change over time.
