Speaking of a childhood song I love, I want to talk about the song about Halloween.

I don’t remember the exact name of that childhood song already, but I still remember the lyrics and melody of that song. "Bats in the belfries钟塔, owls in the trees, cats in the cornfields, ghosts in the breeze, go trick or treating then it’s all done. Halloween’s over, but wasn’t it fun?"

According to the lyrics written in the song, it was about Halloween. At that time, Halloween swept in China and everyone thought it was interesting because people wore costumes during the holiday. So, because of curiosity, like every child, when I heard this song, I thought Halloween was mysterious and funny. I believed that there were bats, owls, cats and ghosts. Moreover, the melody was cheerful in a merry mood, so we always sang that song at the top of our lungs进步嗓门,大声唱出来. It was amazing!

I love this childhood song not only because of the unique tune and the unforgettable lyrics, but also because of the memories it left me. Those precious childhood memories mean a lot to me.

A story you heard when you were little

Describe a story you heard when you were little.

You should say:

what the story is about

who told you this story

what kinds of features the story has

and explain how you felt when you heard this story.

Talking about a story I was told in my childhood, I think the most impressive one is “The Little Mermaid” from Hans Christian Henderson.

My grandmother always told me fairy tales when I was little. The story of “The Little Mermaid” is a moving story about the little mermaid  who gave up her life to save her love.

At the age of fifteen, the little mermaid for the first time swims to the surface of the sea, where she saves a prince from drowning and falls in love with him at first sight. Her grandmother tells her that humans have a much shorter lifespan, but that when mermaids die they turn to sea foam and cease to exist, while humans have an eternal soul that lives on in heaven. The little mermaid, longing for the prince and an eternal soul, eventually visits the “Sea Witch”, who sells her a potion that gives her legs, in exchange for her voice.  The Sea Witch warns, however, if the prince marries someone else, the little mermaid will have to die brokenhearted and disintegrate(分解)into sea foam, unless she kills the prince.

Unfortunately, the prince decides to get married and the bride is not the mermaid. Facing the hard choice, the little mermaid finally chooses to become foams on the sea rather than kill the prince she loved deeply. The next morning people find out that there are lots of gorgeous foams on the sea reflecting the most glamorous shines ever. No one knows that it is the youngest daughter of sea: the mermaid princess. On the day prince marries someone else, mermaid finally gives him the best wishes with her life.

This fairy tale is so moving that I learn that love is much deeper than any of the oceans. Love makes the world go round!

A book you love

Describe a book you love.

You should say:

what the book is called

what the book is about

what kinds of features the book has

and explain why you think the book is special.

The most helpful book for me is the famous English novel “Jane Eyre” written by Charlotte Bronte. The heroine called Jane Eyre was outwardly of poor appearance but plucky(大胆).

Jane Eyer was a born resister, whose parents went off when she was very young, and her aunt, the only relative she had, treated her as badly as a ragtag贱民. Since Jane’s education began, she didn’t get what she had been expecting——simply being regarded as a common person, just the same as any other girl around. The suffers from being humiliated taught Jane to be persevering and prize dignity over anything else.

Fortunately, Jane got a chance to be a tutor of lovely Adele and met that garden’s owner, Rochester, a man with warm heart despite a cold face outside. Jane expected to change the life from then on, but fate had decided otherwise. After Jane and Rochester fell in love with each other and got down to get marry, she unfortunately came to know that in fact Rochester had got a legal wife, who seemed to be the shadow following Rochester and led to his moodiness all the time. Jane did want to give him a hand, however, she made up her mind to leave, because she didn’t want to betray her own principles. The book finally got a thought-provoking发人深省的end: Jane inherited a large number of legacies and finally returned. After finding Rochester’s misfortune brought by his original mad wife, Jane chose to stay with him forever.

When we thought of this girl, what she gave us was not a pretty face, but a huge charm of her personality. She h
